Wiring guitar speakers in series or parallel changes the total electrical resistance (impedance) that your amplifier "sees." Choosing the correct wiring ensures your amp operates safely and delivers maximum power without damaging its output transformer.

Series Wiring

In a series circuit, speakers are connected in a single continuous loop. The electrical current passes through one speaker and then the next.

Example: Two 8-ohm speakers in series = 16 ohms.

Parallel Wiring

In a parallel circuit, each speaker is connected directly to the amplifier’s output terminals, creating multiple paths for the current.

Example: Two 8-ohm speakers in parallel = 4 ohms.
