Sid Goldsmith asks about 1ch BiDi Box Balanced Transformer Isolator & DI Box
Hi could you tell me more info about this please? If it's Bi-directional does it have both Male/Female XLR ins/out on it somewhere? What are the connections?
Thanks
-
The XLRs are directional, however the jacks are wired in parallel with the XLRs so can be used in either direction, as Jack to Jack, Jack to Male XLR, or Jack to Female XLR

Dave Hazel asks about MIDI over Jack Cable. Angled TRS to DIN Lead
I'm looking to use this type of cable to control an Eventide Tricerachorus using a Boss es8, Via a midi junction box. Is this the correct cable I need, but more so, what should I select in the "wired for" drop down menu for this particular pedal? Thanks.
-
The Eventide Tricerachorus uses Type A wiring. I have just added you an 'Eventide' Option, but you could also choose the 'Type A' option if you want a generically labelled cable.

Simon Spencer asks about Naim Premium Aux Input Cable. 5 Pin Din to Dual Phono RCA Cinche. Mogami Coax
How is the ground wired each end in this cable - is it using the shielding from RCA sleeve to DIN -ve/ground ?

Joshua Fisher asks about Van Damme Classic XKE Female XLR to Male XLR Cables
Can I use this cable to connect a DAC to an amp? Or is it designed for microphones only?
-
You can use these to connect any balanced device to a balanced device. So they are good for microphones, and/or DAC to Amps...

Paul Carpenter asks about Neutrik Un-balanced Jack Split into 2 x Neutrik Un-Balanced Jacks. Sommer Onyx Twin Cable
Where is the split located within the cable? Can you tell me the length of each stem of a 3m cable, for example?
-
We split the cable for 15cm and then apply a Neoprene band. If you need to split the cable further the neoprene band is easily removed with scissors, the cable can then be pulled apart all the way back up to the single connector.
I hope that helps

Jens Rendboell asks about 7 Pin Din Midi Cable. Foot Switch to Amp Lead. Bi-Directional Phantom Power
Hello designacable,
I want to use the DIN 7 pin cable for B&O. Are these cables with twisted pairs (pin 4 and 5)?
If yes, would it be possible for you to make a not twisted cable?
Or make a twisted cable with 8 wirings. 2 wirings for ground to pin 2 twisted with pin 1 and pin 4?
Eventually make a twisted cable with 10 wirings. 4 wirings for ground to pin 2 twisted with pin 1, 3, 4 and 5?
Thanks in advance,
Jens Rendboell-
These are not twisted pair cables, and no shield. The cable used is a unpaired data cable, suitable for control signals. If you need anything different please email info@designacable.com for a quote. Thanks : )

Michael Borg asks about SPDIF Digital Audio Video Coaxial Cable. RCA to RCA. Van Damme 75ohm Coax Phono
Hi,
Is the 75ohm impedance for the total cable including RCA connectors? If not what is the measurement including connectors/what are the losses/gain due to the connectors.
Thank you
Michael-
The cable used is rated at 75ohm impedance. The RCA connectors are not. In terms of how this effects the characteristic impedance of the cable i cannot say for sure but i will look into it. SPDIF and analogue video are not 'fussy' formats and we have not had an issues with any cables to date, when connecting in those formats
